Alagappa University Tamil Nadu is a self-governed institute by a Special Act of the government of Tamil Nadu in 1985. The university is famous for its arts and science courses offered in many affiliated colleges and departments under this university. The institution has 39 departments, 9 centres and two integral colleges on its campus. The university has given affiliation to 44 in the district of Sivagana and Ramanathapuram. The university offers many courses at Undergraduate, Postgraduate, certificate, diploma and Postgraduate Diploma. Alagappa University Admission is based on merit and entrance examination conducted by the university itself.
Alagappa University Ranking – The University have scored 64th position latein the year 2020.It has also scored 28th position in the list of national universities and 47th overall ranking by NIRF. This is the only university in Tamil Nadu to get INR 100 crore sanctioned through RUSA 2.0 scheme.

Alagappa University Admission 2021
- Alagappa University admission is done based on merit and entrance test depending on the course you have selected.
- Admission to B.P.Ed. and D.P.Ed will be based on Medical tests, Physical Efficiency tests and game tests.
- The admission to B.Ed. the course will be done based on the Entrance Test and admission to other UG courses will be done based on the last qualifying examination.
- Admission to M.P.Ed course will be based on Medical Test, Physical Efficiency Test and Games Test. Rest for other PG courses, the admission will be based on the lastappliesBioElectronics qualifying exam.
- Admission to MBA, MCA and M.Sc. in Physics /Chemistry, Microbiology and Biotechnology course will be based on the entrance exam, group discussion and interview.
- Admission to M.Phil and P.hD will be based on the entrance test conducted by the university.
- NET/SET/GATE qualified applicants are exempted from the entrance test.
