Delhi Technological University (DTU) was formerly known as Delhi College of Engineering (DCE), located in Delhi. It is a Government University, established in the year 1941. It is one of the oldest Engineering colleges in India and 1st engineering college of Delhi. In 2009, the college was given the State University Status and changed its name to Delhi Technological University.
DTU, Delhi is consistently ranked as one of the Top Engineering College in India.
Its new Campus is well connected by Road and spread over an area of 164 acres of Land with all major facilities including well stocked library, Smart Classrooms, Laboratories with latest equipments, Computer Lab, 8 Boys Hostel, 6 Girls Hostels, Married Couples Hostel, Open air theatre, Auditorium, Seminar and Conference Hall, Sports complex, Lecture Halls, Gym, Mess and Cafeteria, E-Journals, Medical Center and many more facilities are available.
The University has many departments and imparting the Bachelor’s, Master and Doctoral level / Research Programs in various disciplines such as Engineering, Management, Science, Humanities and Social Science.
The offered courses are B.Tech in Civil, Computer Engineering, Biotechnology, Environmental, Industrial and Production, Mechanical, Electronics and Communication etc, M.Tech in Biomedical Engineering, CSE, Environmental, Production, Industrial Biotechnology, Polymer Technology etc, BBA, MBA, MBA (Executive), EMBA, BA and Ph.d in Management Studies, Civil Engineering, Applied Chemistry, Applied Physics etc.
There are many cultural societies inside the campus, in which student can take part and show their skills such as Madhurima - The Music Society, Pratibimb - The Dramatics Society, Kalakriti - The Creative Arts Society, Dhoom - The Dance & Choreography Society, Furore - The Live Events Society and SPIC-MACAY.
DTU has separate Training and Placement Department which works on the overall development of students and maintains the relations with the Industries and Companies so that students can get the summer internship and good placements. The cell consists of a team of high qualified professionals who conducts various activities like GD Session, Personality Development programs, Interview skills, Seminars, Guest Lectures, and Presentation Skills etc.
Students get the best platform for the campus placement because many top companies visit the campus for Campus placement and provide the good packages. The major recruiting of DTU are Amazon , Genpact, Kotak Mahindra Bank, KPMG, IBM, HCL Technologies, ISGEC, United Airlines etc.

- Students can fill the application form by visiting the college official website or they can download the application form.
- The minimum eligibility to take admission in B.Tech course is 10+2 with PCM subjects and secured minimum 60% marks from recognized Board and have valid score in JEE Mains. Admission will be done on the basis of score obtained in JEE Mains followed by Joint Admission Counseling.
- Students will have to fill the registration cum counseling fee (Rs.1400) can be paid through Challan or Online payment.
- Admission to B.Tech (Evening) will be done on the basis of score obtained in an Entrance Test.
- Admission to BBA and BA (Hons.) course will be done on the basis of marks obtained in 10+2 examination. They must have secured minimum 50% marks in 10+2 examination.
- Admission in M.Tech course will be done on the basis of score obtained in GATE.
- Admission to M.Tech (Part and Full Time sponsored) will be done through an Entrance Test conducted by DTU.
- MBA admission will be done on the basis of score obtained in CAT followed by Group Discussion and Personal Interview. On the other hand admission to EMBA course will be done on the basis of performance in last qualifying examination and work experience. The elgibility criteria is graduation with minimum 60% marks.
- For EMBA course, the work experience of three years is required for B.Tech, BE or B.Arch students and minimum 4 years of work experience is needed for the BA, B.Sc, BCA, B.Com students.
- The minimum eligibility for admission to Ph.D course is Master’s degree in relevant discipline with minimum 60% marks.
- Students who have valid score in any one of the following entrance test: UGC NET/ CSIR NET/ DBT/ JRF will not required to appear in Ph.D screening test, they only have to appear for Interview round.
- While students without any entrance score will be required to appear in Ph.D Screening Test.
NOTE:
- 85% seats in Bachelor’s degree courses are reserved for the students who have completed their 10+2 examination from the school located in Delhi/ NCT of Delhi.
- 15% seats in Bachelor’s degree courses are reserved for those students who done 10+2 from any school located outside Delhi.
- One Seat in each Undergraduate courses is reserved for the Kashmiri Migrants and Single Girl Child who are staying in NCT of Delhi.
- One seat over and above the sanctioned intake is reserved for the Topper of State/ Central Board.
Delhi Technological University, Delhi Fee Structure:
- Since, DTU is a Government college so the fee is nominal, but the fees of every course increases every year. The college fee is affordable as compared to other colleges in the city.
- Students have to deposit the onetime security deposit at the time of admission only, its refundable.
- Other charges like examination fees, maintenance fee, Development fees etc must be pay at the time of admission.
- Students can pay the fees in two installments i.e. per semester per installment.
- There are also certain provisions/ scholarships for those students who are financially weak. Also college provide scholarship to meritorious and deserving students on the basis of their academic performance.
