Government Leather Institute is a Government college which is located in Agra, Uttar Pradesh. The college has been established in the year 1962 for training in two disciplines of Technology i.e. Diploma in Leather Technology & Diploma in Footwear and Leather Goods Technology. The college is approved by All India Council of Technical Education, New Delhi and affiliated to Uttar Pradesh Board of Technical Education, Lucknow.
It imparts the education in the field of Leather and footwear technology. It offers the two diploma courses such as Diploma in Footwear & Leather Goods Technology and Diploma in Leather Technology. The duration of course is three year as per the needs to Industry, initially, it was years course.
The college has well constructed infrastructure with all facilities such as well established Tannery, Testing Lab, Basic Science Lab, Engineering Workshops, Footwear Shops, Microbiology Lab, computer centre, well furnished classrooms, well-stocked library with 5941 books, Magazines, 7 journals, newspapers etc, Guest Room, Learning Resource, Sports and Games, Medical Facility and many other facilities are also available for the students inside the college campus.
In the workshops of Footwear and leather goods, students learn the sports good, leather goods and garment manufacturing from finished leather, Shoe Design Making, Processed leathers etc.
Students have been placed in renowned companies every year such as Saru International Pvt. Ltd., Superhouse Ltd., AP Leather Pvt. Ltd., TATA International Ltd, Euro Footwear, Kiwi Enterprises, Leayan Global Pvt. Ltd. And many more.

The eligibility criteria for Diploma course is a high school with English, science and mathematics as main subjects from recognized board.
Students will have to appear in the entrance test conducted by Uttar Pradesh Board of Technical Education, Lucknow.
Admission will be done on the basis of score obtained in the entrance test.
