Government Medical College Haldwani formerly known as Uttarakhand Forest Hospital Trust Medical College is a medical college which was established in the year 1997. It is one of the emerging medical colleges in India. The college has the affiliation from Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna Medical University. All the courses offered by the college are approved by the Medical Council of India (MCI) and Government of India.
Campus
The main campus of Government Medical College is spreading over an area of 90 acres. It is situated at Rampur road, Haldwani. The college campus consists of administrative building and a fully functional academic block.
Facilities Offered
The college offers best infrastructural facilities to its students. It has well-lightened and spacious classrooms, an auditorium having the capacity of 1000 persons, residential complexes, sports complexes and separate hostel facilities for girls and boys. Courses
The college offers undergraduate and postgraduate medical courses. It conducts MBBS and MD/MS courses. The MBBS programme has the duration of 41/2 years plus one year of compulsory rotatory internship while MD/MS courses typically has the duration of 3 years. Students can choose to pursue MD in any of the specializations such as general medicine, anaesthesia, biochemistry, paediatrics, radiodiagnosis, physiology and pathology.
