Govt. Mohindra College, Patiala was established in 1857 and has a history of 141 years in education. The college was established by the name of H.H Maharaja Mohinder Singh (1852-76) which is one of the oldest colleges of North India. At the time of its inception in 1875, it was the only institution that was spread in a vast area i.e. from Lahore to Delhi.The college was awarded ‘A Grade’ with CGPA 3.86 by ‘NAAC’in February 2021. This was the highest score given to any college in the country. With its royal legacy, the college has the fine and historical architecture that is spread within the lush green campus. This educational institution has departments in Arts, Commerce, Science, and Computers etc. The wide varieties of UG and PG courses like B.A LLB, BJMC, MBA, MJMC etc are also being offered by the college. Govt. Mohindra College Patiala Admission 2021
The College is done strictly on the basis of merit of marks secured in the qualifying examination. Those candidates who are willing to take admission in the Mohindra college must appear in person before the authority/committee. For every admission, the approval is given by the Principal. Interested students can apply in the month of July every year. To submit their application before the end date. Students can extend their admission up to one month from the admission date. Total intake of college is 1500 seats per year.

- Students from other states who are interested in taking admission should get eligibility certificate from Punjab University, Patiala.
- Admission is also based on a reserved category that includes:
- 25% of scheduled caste
- 5% backward class
- 3% handicap

- 2%for the children, grandchildren of freedom fighter
- 2% wards of employees and teachers.
- 2% wards of victims who are 50% disabled of in any kind of terrorist or police activities
- 2% migrated Sikh.
- 2% wards of armed forces/CRPF/BSF/Police personnel (in service, retired, expired during service)

Govt Mohindra College UG Courses Admission
Mohindra College, Patiala provides 1,100 seats for admission in UG courses. The courses are of 3 years except for B. Sc in Agriculture, B.A LLB which if 4 years and 5 years. Candidates interested in creative fields can also go for BJMC (Bachelor’s in Journalism and Mass Communication). For admission to UG courses in commerce field additional 10% weight age will be given to the students who have commerce as a subject in class 12th. Both medical and non-medical students can choose science in a pass as well as honours courses. Arts students who are willing to opt science must have mathematics as one of their subjects in 12th, This implies on courses like B.Sc(pass)CSM or B.sc (Hons)Mathematics.
Mohindra College PG Courses
Admission in PG programmes is offered in the field of arts, science, commerce and computers. Further, the college also offers a PG Diploma course in computer applications, Internet and web designing and Yoga. Total 400 seats are available for the admission in PG courses. The duration of the PG course is 2 years except for MCA which of 3 years. It is to be noted that all PG Diploma course is of 1 year.
