It deals with the study of material science, structural management and construction materials. The department has labs like - Geomatics lab, Transportation Engg. Lab, Environmental  Engg. Lab, Structural Engineering lab, CAD lab, Geotechnical Engg. Lab, Testing Facilities: Hydraulic/ Fluid Mechanics Lab. The lecture halls are equipped with high-quality audio-visual LCD projectors that help better in informative lectures and presentations. 

The faculties are highly experienced and develop a wide result of research. The research programs in civil engineering are funded by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), The Department of Science and Technology (GOI), BARC, IWRS, etc. The faculty also provides research-based advice to many private and non-government organisations for their civil design.
