The institute temporarily operated at National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli campus and the permanent campus was inaugurated on April 03, 2021 by Prakash Javadekar.
The Indian Institute of Management, Tiruchirappalli, had acquired 172.27 acres (69.72 ha) of land owned by the Bharathidasan University to construct its permanent campus at Chinna Suriyur.The ?584 crore (US$91 million) permanent campus consists of world-class hostels for about 1,500 students, quarters for about 300 faculty, a floating library, recreational facilities and a full-fledged Management Development Centre for both the students and the faculty.
