Madras School of Social Work (MSSW) is an autonomous college which is located in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. It has been established in the year 1952 aegis of the Society for Social Education and Research. The college is affiliated to University of Madras. It is ranked as 3rd best college for Social Work in India.

It offers the courses like MSW, M.Sc in Counseling Psychology, MA in Human Resource Management, Bachelor of Social work, MA in Development Management, PG Diploma Hons in Personnel Management and Industrial Relations, B.Sc in Psychology, MA in Social Entreprenurship, MA in Human Resource and Organizational Development etc. It also offers the M.Phil. Social Work & Psychology, Ph.D. in Social Work.

The campus of MSSW is beautiful and the surrounding areas are pollution free. It has well stocked library with more than 16,000 books and many journals and periodicals, Computer Center with Internet connectivity, Medical facility, Transport facility, Audio Visual Rooms, Modern classrooms, Safety and security, parking, Hostel facility, Mess and Cafeteria and many other facilities are available inside the college campus.

There are highly qualified, dedicated and experienced faculty members.

Students who have passed bachelor degree in social work are working with NGOs and the government. Student with Human Resource are placed in the Corporate Sectors such as TCS, Deloitte, Ernst and Young, Cognizant etc. Students who have done Counseling in Psychology are working with Schools, Corporate Position as Counsellor, Industrial etc.

For Admission to B.Sc and BSW will be done on the basis of marks obtained in qualifying examination. Students must have done intermediate in any discipline from recognized board. Student must be less than 21 years of age. 5 years of relaxation of age for reserved category students.
For admission to MSW and MA, students must have done graduation from recognized University. Students will be required to appear in Entrance test followed by Group Discussion and personal interview.
To get admission to M.Phil and Ph.D, students must have completed Master’s degree in relevant discipline from recognized Univrsersity. Admission will be done on the merit basis of qualifying examination.
Admission to PG Diploma, students must have completed graduation in any discipline and admission will be done on the basis of marks obtained in graduation.

Fee structure is very feasible and nominal.
The total fee of BSW is Rs. 96,020, B.Sc Rs. 95,970, MA Rs. 94,880, MSW Rs. 90,805, MHORD Rs. 94,880, M.Sc Rs. 99,280.
