Mahatma Gandhi Chitrakoot Gramodhya Vishwavidyalaya was established on 12th February 1991. The University accredited by Grade A by NAAC. Chitrakoot University was established by the Government of Madhya Pradesh through the legislature by an Act 9, 1991. The main aim of the university is to develop human resource for the economic and social development of rural people and develop and disseminate rural technology. It also an imparts mass education for the empowerment and awareness of the rural population including a woman and supports the exploration of alternative sources of energy. The university offers facilities like central library, computer centre, guest house and hostels. University reserves 80% seats for MP candidates (having domicile certificate) and 20% seats for another state candidate.
Chitrakoot University also offers s scholarship to SC/ST/OBC students who are from weak sections of the society. The university offers scholarship /fellowship as per MP Govt regulations. The university also helps SC/ST students’ to apply for UGC sponsored scholarship to pursue M.Phil and PhD studies. The university has separate boys and girls hostels and offers co-curricular sports activities at the national and state level.

Chitrakoot University Admission 2021
- Admission in Mahatma Gandhi Chitrakoot University is done on the basis of entrance examination conducted by the university.
- For admission to B.Tech Agriculture candidates need to qualify PAT (University Entrance Examination)
- Admission process generally starts in June to July.

- 30% of seats are reserved for females.
- 80% seats are reserved for domicile holder of MP and 20% to other state seats.
- Seats are also reserved for SC/ST candidates as per the rule of State Government.

Chitrakoot University UG Admission 2021
Chitrakoot University offers 23 UG courses whose admission is based on an entrance test conducted by the university. The candidates need to fill the application online and can register themselves for the entrance examination. Admission to B.Tech agriculture is on the basis of PAT which is followed by counselling.

Chitrakoot University PhD Admission
Candidates will get admission through entrance test. Candidates who are already qualified NET for JRF or Lectureship of UGC/CSIR or ICAR/GATE or ICMR JRF Test; candidates with DST-Holder or have passed M.Phil Programme (as per UGC regulation 2009and amended thereafter) with course work is exempted from Entrance test but have to appear in the interview.
Note – UGC /State government rule applied /approved by the coordination committee related to the PhD course shall be applicable from time to time.
