Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering and Technology is commonly known as SLIET, It is a Deemed University which is located in Sangrur, Punjab. It was established in the year 1989 by the government of India. In 2007, the institute has got the status of deemed university by the UGC. It is one of the leading institute of Engineering in Punjab.
SLIET imparts the education in the field of Engineering, Applied Science and Management. The offered courses are BE in Food Technology, Chemical Engineering, Instrumentation and control engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing engineering, Welding Technology etc, MBA, BE Lateral Entry, M.Tech in Food Engineering and Technology, Chemical Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Welding and fabrication, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Chemical Engineering, M.Sc in Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, Certification, Diploma, Ph.D in English, management Studies, Computer Science and Engineering etc.
The campus of University is sprawling over 451 acres of land and have eco friendly environment. There are many facilities and amenities are offered by the University. Students can fill the online application form on University application form. The application form starts in the month of march or april every year. Its follows the online mode of admissions only. Admission to all the UG, PG and doctoral level courses will be done through Entrance exams.
For B.E admission, student need to complete 10+2 in science stream with PCM subjects from recognized board. Admission will be made on the basis of merit of JEE main followed by online counseling by CSAB.
For admission to BE lateral, must have passed Diploma in Engineering with minimum 55% marks from recognized University (50% mark for SC/ST/OBC category students). They have to qualify in SLIET SET.
For admission to M.Tech, must have done B.Tech or BE in Engineering discipline from recognized University. They must have obtained minimum 60% marks (55% marks in case of SC/ST). Students must have valid score in GATE or they have working experience of 3 years in any private or public organizations. Selection of students for admission will be done on the merit basis through centralized counseling for M.Tech CCMT.
To get admission to MBA course, students must have done graduation in any discipline with minimum 55% marks in qualifying examination and must have valid score in GATE/ CMAT/CAT. Selection will be done on the basis of score obtained in GATE/ CMAT/CAT. Shortlisted students will be called for Group Discussion followed by Interview.
For M.Sc admission, students must have done B.Sc in relevant discipline from recognized with minimum 55% marks (50% marks in case of SC/ST category students). Admission will be done on the basis of merit through CCMN.
For admission to Ph.D course, student need to complete Master’s degree in relevant discipline from recognized University and must have obtained minimum 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/Ph/OBC). Admission will be done on the basis of score obtained in SET entrance exam followed by Personal Interview.

SLIET fee structure is very low as compare to other colleges and students can easily afford the college fee. University also provides the scholarship to meritorious and deserving students.
The total fee for B.E course is Rs.2,33,000, MBA Rs.95,000, M.Tech Rs.95,000, M.Sc Rs.83,000 and Ph.D Rs.71,000.
