Swami Vivekanand Institute of Engineering and Technology is popularly known as SVIET, located in Patiala, Chandigarh. It is one of the colleges of Swami Vivekanand Group of Institutes which has been established in the year 2004. The college is affiliated to IK Gujral Punjab Technical University, Jalandhar and approved by AICTE (All India Council of Technical Education), New Delhi and Govt. of Punjab.
The campus of SVIET has well-constructed buildings and unique infrastructure. There are well-equipped labs and workshops, fully furnished classrooms, Computer Lab, Internet Connectivity, Central Library with 30,000 textbooks, National and International Journals, conference hall, Lecture Hall, Sports facility, Medical aid, Auditorium, and others.
SVIET imparts the technical education in the field of Engineering such as Civil Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering. The offered courses are B.Tech, M.Tech, and B.Tech Lateral.
The placement of college is very good and the training and placement cell works related to the activities of training and placement. The cell has highly experienced staff which coordinates and maintains the relationship with Industries and companies. The cell conducts industrial visit, seminars, GD Session, Mock Interview, training programs for the students so that they can face the final interview with the companies and get good placement. Every year many companies visit the SVIET and recruit many students. The top recruiting companies are Google, HCL, TCS, IBM, Ericsson, Videocon, Capgemini, NIIT, Onida, Wipro, Infosys, Eureka Forbes, ICICI and many more.
SVIET conducts various activities like a cultural program, spontaneity, Blood donation camps, fresher, farewell, sports, Fest and others.

A student can obtain the application form from College admission cell or the can fill the application form on College official website.
To B.Tech admission, students must have completed 10+2 in science stream with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects from recognized Board. Students with JEE Main score will be given first preference at the time of admission. Other seats will be filled on the basis of marks obtained in qualifying examination.
For B.Tech Lateral, Students must have completed Diploma in Engineering or B.sc with Mathematics as the main subject from recognized University.
Admission to M.Tech, students must have completed B.Tech or BE in relevant discipline from recognized University. They must have obtained minimum 50% marks in graduation and valid score in GATE.

The fee structure of SVIET is neither high nor low, it is much feasible. Students have to pay the fees every semester or they can pay the total amount of fees altogether.
