Btech in Petroleum Engineering is a bachelor’s degree programme of 4 years duration. It is a full-time technical course divided into 8 semesters. Each year will consist of 2 semesters. Petroleum Engineering Eligibility Criteria:
To be eligible for B.Tech in Petroleum Engineering, one must have passed their 10+2 in science stream with a minimum aggregate of 60% marks. The study at intermediate level should be completed with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as a compulsory subject.
Admission Procedure:
•    Admission in B.Tech in Petroleum Engineering is offered through entrance exam. However, some colleges also facilitate admission on the basis of class 12th merit.
•    JEE Main is the national level examination through which admission in this course is done.
•    Some of the Universities/institutions also regulate their own entrance test for providing admission. UPESEAT is the University level exam conducted by University of Petroleum & Energy Studies, Dehradun.
•    Candidates desiring admission in top institutions of India like IITs, ISM Dhanbad&IISc have to appear and passed JEE Advanced.
•    On the basis of candidate’s score in the entrance test, the counseling process will be done. The final allotment of seats will be done at the time of counseling.
