B.Tech. Power Engineering Eligibility & Fees Structure 2021

  • B.Tech in Power Engineering shall consist of 4 academic years.Each academic year is equally divided into 2 semesters. The duration of each semester is 6 months.
  • It is an undergraduate full-time academic course which aims to produce brilliant intellectuals matching to the needs of the modern power industry. The average tuition fee charged for this course is approximately INR 4 Lacs.
  • Power engineering deals with the generation, transmission and distribution of electric power. In addition, it also deals with the study of power systems and electrical systems.
  • During the first year, students will learn about basic engineering subjects like mathematics, physics, chemistry and other engineering subjects. In later years, they study about electrical machines, power electronics, network analysis and synthesis, power generation, transmission and distribution, switchgear and production and energy management and power technology.

Eligibility Criteria for B.Tech in Power Engineering:
To get admission into B.Tech in Power Engineering, the minimum qualification required is 12th passed from a well-recognized board. The qualifying examination must be passed with the minimum aggregate of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English.
Admission Procedure for B.Tech in Power Engineering:
•    Admission into this course is done through entrance test.
•    Some colleges also fill their vacant seats on the basis of marks of qualifying examination.
•    JEE Main is the renowned national level entrance test whose scores are considered by almost all of the colleges.
•    Some other entrance test held at state and University level for admission into this course are MU-OET, SRMJEEE, VITEEE, AP EAMCET, TS EAMCET, UPESEAT, etc.
•    Seat allotment would be done through counseling based on the rank obtained in the entrance test.
