Eligibility Criteria:
In order to be eligible for M.tech in Agricultural engineering, a candidate must have the degree of Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) in agricultural engineering or related field.
Admission Procedure:
• Reputed engineering institutions provide admission on the basis of entrance test.
• Generally, admission is done through Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE). It is a prominent national level entrance test administered jointly by IITs and IISc.
• Various state level and University level exams have been also held every year for facilitating admission.
• Candidates need to score good marks in the entrance test to get admission.
Job Prospects:
Agricultural engineers are employed by agriculture firms, retail industry, food processing industry, central and state government organizations. Private engineering firms also appoint agricultural engineers for the post of the consultant. Besides this, they are also employed by industry which manufactures agricultural machinery, equipment and structures for housing livestock and crop storage.
