M.Tech. - Production Engineering Admission 2021 & Top Colleges

  • M.Tech in Production Engineering is the 2 years full-time residential academic course consisting of 4 semesters. It is the postgraduate level course.
  • Each semester lasts for the period of 6 months. Generally, the tuition fee of this course lies in between INR 3 to 5 lac.
  • Production engineering, also known as manufacturing engineering is the branch of engineering deals with the design, planning, development, maintenance and processes involve in the manufacture of the product. The production engineer has the responsibility to oversee the quality of produced product.
  • The course provides the knowledge about the production of various products in an eco-friendly and cost-effective manner.

•    Students should possess B.Tech degree in Mechanical engineering or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution/University.
•    Minimum 60% marks in B.Tech degree is required to be eligible for this course. The marks percentage may vary from institution to institution.
Admission Procedure:
•    In India, most of the colleges provide admission into M.Tech in Production Engineering through entrance exam.
•    One of the most popular entrance tests namely Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is the national level exam which is taken by large number of M.Tech aspirants every year.
•    Almost all the premier engineering institutions consider the score card of GATE for granting admission into postgraduate engineering course.
•    There are some colleges which provide admission on the basis of their own entrance exam followed by an interview. TANCET, AP PGECET, TS PGECET, MU-OET are some of the entrance test for M.Tech programme.
•    Final allotment of seats will be done through counselling.
