- VLSI stands for Very Large Scale Integration. It is the sub-specialization of electronics and communication engineering offered at postgraduate level. It is an emerging and challenging field. The duration for M.Tech in VLSI design is 2 years; each year consist of 2 semesters.

Eligibility Criteria for M.Tech in VLSI Design:
The eligibility requirements for this course are mentioned below:
• Candidates possessing Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) degree either in ECE, EEE or E & I will be eligible to apply for this course.
• Candidates who have done their post-graduation with M.Sc in Electronics are also eligible.
• Minimum marks required for qualifying examination (B.E./B.Tech/M.Sc) is 55% marks. In case of SC/ST, minimum marks is relaxed by 5 years (i.e. 50% marks).
Admission Procedure for M.Tech in VLSI Design:
• For admission in this course, students are required to appear an entrance test.
• In most of the colleges, admission into M.Tech is done through Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE).
• Besides this, there are many state level and University level entrance test conducted for admission into this course such as AP PGECET, TS PGECET, GITAM GAT, VITMEE, MU OET etc.
• Selection will be made through counseling based on the merit of candidates in the entrance test.
