LLM in Criminal Law

• This is a 3 years’ post graduate program in criminal law, divided into 6 semesters. 
• Criminal law is basically a branch of law that relates to crime. 
• Under this course, you will study about crime prevention, policing, use of custodial and non-custodial punishments, the interest of the victim and many similar aspects of criminal law. 
• To obtain this degree, you must have certain skills like innovative mind, zeal to contribute to law, judiciary field and ability to answer hypothetical legal questions.   
• During this course, you will understand about criminal offenses and be able to handle the hypothetical legal situation.                                                                                                                                          
• This course will enhance your knowledge of criminal law and specific issues in criminal law. 
• It covers topics like legal concepts, criminal law, corporate law, life and fire insurance, intellectual property, judicial process etc. 
• To attain this degree program, you must obtain LLB or BA LLB degree from any recognized universities.
• On the completion of this course, you can start your career in law firms, Defence, Criminal Tribunals, National legal Institutions, ministries of foreign affairs etc.

How to get admission into this course

• To get admission into this course, you must crack an entrance exam such as CLAT and CAT. 
• There are some institutes, which conduct their own entrance exams to offers admission into this course. 
• After successfully cracking the entrance exam, you will undergo a counseling procedure or personal interview as specified by Institute.

• There are various sectors in which you can seek employment after completing these courses such as Justice and Defence, Criminal Tribunals, National legal Institutions, law firms, ministries of foreign affairs etc.
