• It is a 2 years post graduate diploma program in Anesthesiology.
• Anesthesia is the state of temporary induced loss of consciousness or awareness. Anesthetic is a drug that causes anesthesia.
• It primarily controls pains during surgery, child birth and any other medical activity on the human body that brings the intolerable pain.
• This course includes the fundaments study of pharmacology, pediatric, toxicology, anesthesia in traumatology and orthopedics.

• To get admission into this course, you have to appear for NEET Entrance exam after satisfying the set eligibility criteria. 
• Some institute conducts their own entrance examination to offers admission into this course such as AIIMS and CMC Vellore. 
• On the other hand, some Institute also provides admission on the basis of your obtained marks in MBBS/Work Experience/Practical Knowledge.

• The anesthesiologist is an important member of the surgical team.      Every hospital needs a team of experienced and dedicated Anesthesiologist.

• During labor and delivery, an anesthesiologist gives pain relief to the mother.
