Government of India Scholarship for 9th and 10th Students, Maharashtra, is inviting all the eligible candidates to apply for this scholarship. It is a centrally sponsored scholarship by the Government of India for Class 9th and 10th. The main purpose of this scholarship is to reduce the dropout rate of SC students at the secondary level. This will further develop the interest in education among the students belonging to the backward class. 

Eligibility Criteria for Government of India Scholarship for 9th and 10th Students, Maharashtra

Applicants must meet the following criteria to apply for the scholarship-

• The student must belong to an eligible community or background.

• They should be studying in a recognized government, aided, or private non-aided school.

• There is no income limit to apply.

• Applicant must be a permanent resident of the state.

• For the second instalment, at least 60% attendance in the current year is required.

• Students from economically weaker sections are encouraged to apply.

• Students from all boards can apply (except certain self-financed schools).

• Students who fail the academic year will need to pass before reapplying.

Reward Schemes for Government Scholarships for Class 9 and 10 

1) For Students Staying in Hostels

• ₹350 per month (up to 10 months)

• ₹1000 one-time ad hoc grant for books and study materials

2) For Day Scholars (Non-Hostellers)

• ₹150 per month (up to 10 months)

• ₹750 one-time ad hoc grant for books and study materials

3) Funding Structure

• 60% funded by the central government

• 40% funded by the state government

4) Disbursement Details

• Only the state government’s share (40%) will be given in a single instalment

Important Note:

• No additional support beyond 10 months

• If enrolled for less than 10 months, the amount will be given based on the number of months attended from the date of admission

Other Terms and Conditions

• If the student repeats the class, they are not allowed to apply.

• A girl candidate can apply to one scheme, either the said scheme or the Savitribai Phule Scholarship.

• Passing the previous year’s examination is necessary to renew the scholarship.
