India Alliance DBT Wellcome Early Career Fellowships 2020 is offered equally by The Wellcome Trust, UK, and Department of Biotechnology, India. Early Career Fellowship (ECF) is meant for basic science/veterinary researchers having 1-4 years of post-PhD research experience. This scheme provides an opportunity for newly qualified postdoctoral researchers to make an initial start and effort towards establishing their own research program under the guidance of a fellowship supervisor.

India Alliance DBT Wellcome Early Career Fellowships Eligibility 2020

In order to be eligible for this fellowship scheme, students must fulfill the below eligibility conditions

• This fellowship scheme is available for all national candidates.
• Applicant must be a basic science/veterinary researcher with 1 to 4 years of post-PhD experience i.e. a student must study in the final year of P.hD.
• It is not necessary that a student must hold a Ph.D. degree at the time of application.
• Candidates must be able to lead an independent research program and expand it further to carry out pioneering research.

Selection Procedure

The alliance evaluates Preliminary applications of the applicant on the basis of eligibility and the research proposal submitted by the applicant. Students invited for the full application will be selected by the India Alliance Fellowship selection committee on the basis of international peer-review followed by an interview.
