Ishan Uday Special Scholarship Scheme for North Eastern Region 2020-21

University Grant Commission under MHRD has taken an initiative for Ishan Uday Special Scholarship Scheme for North Eastern Region. This scheme is focusing on class 12th passed students who are willing to pursue their higher studies without any hurdles. The scheme is working for increasing Gross Enrolment Ratio in North Eastern Region.  Every year, 10,000 fresh scholarships are floated for the deserving candidates. Ishan Uday Special Scholarship Scheme Eligibility Criteria

Those who are eligible must be –

• Domicile Holder of North East.
• Must have passed 12th in the current year.
• They must have secured admission in the first year general degree/technical /professional/medical/paramedical courses from a recognized College/institute
• Must belong to a family whose family income should not be more than 4.50 lakh  P/A.

Rewards

• Selected students will get INR 5,400 per month if pursuing a general degree course.
• INR 7,800 per month for technical, medical, professional, paramedical courses.
• Scholarship amount will be paid through Direct Benefit Transfer.

How to Apply?

• Applications will be invited through the National Scholarship Portal
• A short notification will be uploaded on the UGC website.
• Click “Apply Now” once you are on the official website.
• Read the guidelines before applying and then click “Continue”.
• Select your state, scholarship scheme, and fill all the mandatory details.
• Also, provide your bank detail which includes Bank Name, IFSC Code, Account Number.
• As your identification, select Adhaar or Bank Account Number as your identification and then click “register”.
• Now, login with an OTP generated after following the above-mentioned procedure.
• Fill the complete form.
• After submitting your application, future ID and password will be generated. Use that for future references.

Important Application Dates

• Application announcement date -30th August
• Scholarship deadline – 30th October 2020
• Deadline for verification – 15th November 2020
• Deadline for Institute Verification – 15th November 2020

Selection Criteria

• The distribution will be done on the basis of the population census of the last year. If the slot remains vacant, it will be transferred in a fair manner to other states.  
• 3% reservation is done for the students with a disability (PwD) as per the norms of the Government
