The Legislative Assistants to Member of Parliament Fellowship 2020-21 is an exciting opportunity for young Indians who are interested to learn law-making and public policy. This fellow-ship is brought to you by PRS Legislative Research, which is an Indian non-profit organization.

The main objective of this scholarship is to provide research support and skills to the students. This skill training includes drafting parliamentary questions for the MP, Raising Matters of Public Importance, Preparing MP Speeches for Zero Hour Debates and Drafting Private Members' Bills. These skills help candidates to make a good career in public policy departments.

Eligibility to apply for this fellowship

To get shortlisted for this fellowship:-

• Applicant's age must be of 25 years or less than it.
• The applicant must have a bachelor's degree in any particular stream.
• Candidate must be a citizen of India.

• Stipend: This fellowship includes a stipend amount of INR 20,000 Per Month.
• Submission of applications for this fellowship, shouldn't be delayed than 11:45 PM IST on Sunday, January 26, 2020.

The application procedure for the LAMP fellowship will begin in the middle or end of January 2020.

Candidates fulfilling the basic eligibility criteria mentioned above are welcome to apply for this fellowship.

However, previous LAMP fellows were the holder of Master's degree in Engineering, Law, Economics, Pure Sciences, Literature, Journalism, Commerce or Political Science, etc

Ques: What is the lasting duration of this fellowship?

Ans: The fellowship usually starts from the middle of June with a month of training. Fellows of this fellowship will also be assigned to their respective members of Parliament during the monsoon session and will continue to work with MP until the end of the budget session.

 Ques: Is work experience compulsory to be a LAMP fellow?

Ans: Work experience isn't demanded as particular to become a LAMP fellow. However, a candidate with professional work experience is more likely to get adaptive to the work structure of a LAMP fellow.

 Ques: Will I receive a stipend amount from this Fellowship, if yes, then how much will it be?

Ans: A stipend of INR 20,000 Per Month is decided to give by the PRS members.

 Ques: I am not an Indian Citizen but I have PIO/OCI card. Am I eligible for this fellowship?

Ans: The LAMP Fellowship 2020-21 is available only for Indian Citizens. We are sorry to inform but, no person with OCI/PIO card is allowed to apply for this fellowship.
