National Entrance Screening Test (NEST) 2023-24, Exam Pattern, Last Date, Syllabus, Rewards & Eligibility

National Entrance Screening Test (NEST) 2023, also known as NEST 2023 is an all-India level examination conducted jointly by the NISER, Bhubaneshwar, and UM-DAE CEBS, Mumbai. NEST is the online examination for taking admission into a 5-year Integrated MSc Program in Basic Sciences – Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics in its participating institutions. Candidates can receive a scholarship of up to INR 60,000/- through the INSPIRE program DST or the DISHA program of the Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India.

What is NEST Exam?

Nest exam is an imperious exam for students seeking admission to the National Institute of Science Education and Research ( NISER) Bhubaneswar and Mumbai University - Department of Atomic Energy Centre for Excellence in Basic Science. NEST exam will be organized in around 90 cities in Pan India.

National Entrance Screening Test (NEST) 2023 Eligibility

The basic eligibility conditions to be eligible for the National Entrance Screening Test are:

• A candidate must have passed the 12th examination (Science stream) either in 2019 or 2020. 
• Those appearing for the 12th exam in 2023 can also apply. They must pass the exam by the time of admission to the program. 
• The students must obtain a minimum aggregate of 60% marks in class 12th. For SC/ ST and PD students, the minimum aggregate marks required are 55%. 
• A candidate must be born on or after 1st August 2001. For SC/ ST and PD students, the age limit is relaxed by 5 years.

National Entrance Screening Test (NEST) 2023 Rewards

Those who are selected for NEST 2023 get the following benefits -

• Selected students can get admission into NISER, Bhubaneswar, and UM-DAE CEBS, Mumbai.
• Scholars can also get a scholarship of up to INR 60,000/- per annum by participating in INSPIRE or DISHA program.
• For the summer internship, the scholars will get INR 20,000/- per annum.

 NEST Exam 2023 Application Form

Students can apply for the National Entrance Screening Test (NEST)  by following these simple steps:

• Enter your registration details.
• Students will receive their login credentials on their registered email ID and mobile number.
• Now, students can fill in all the details in the application form.
• Upload all the documents required.
• After filling in the details completely, submit the form.

Documents Required While Applying For NEST 2023 Are As Follows:

• Scanned copy of passport size photograph and signature in the prescribed format
• Class 10th/12th  Mark-sheet/ certificate.
• All the education mark sheets to date.

NEST Application Fee

NEST 2023 fee is INR 1200 for male general category candidates and OBC category candidates. NEST registration fee for girl candidates and candidates of SC/ST/Divyanganj categories is INR 600. Payments can be done online credit/debit/net banking etc. One can only use Mastercard/Visa/RuPay cards. 

NEST 2023 Syllabus

The syllabus of the NEST exam follows the NCERT/CBSE science syllabus of class XI-XII. Two questions from each syllabus are put to test the general scientific knowledge of the students. These two questions might be from class Xth science syllabus. Students can get syllabus details by click here 

Last Date of NEST EXAM 2023-24

• Admit card date – May 20, 2023
• Exam date - June 14, 2023 (Hours of Examination: 9 am to 12.30 pm and 2.30 pm to 6 p.m)

Nest Admit Card 

The amidst card of the nest will be available on the official website from May 20, 2023. Admit cards will not be transferred offline. You have to download it from the official website of Nest. 

NEST Result 2023 

NEST Results will be declared on the official website. Students will be selected based on their scores in NEST 2023.
