National Fellowship And Scholarship For Higher Education Of ST students 2019-20, Last Date, Apply Online, Eligibility

Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India has merged the two central sector scholarship schemes for ST students & Rajiv Gandhi National Fellowship and Top Class Education into a single central sector scheme called National Fellowship and Scholarship for Higher Education of ST students 2020. Under this merged scheme, the fellowship will be provided to the postgraduate students for pursuing a Ph.D. and M.Phil courses. Likewise, the scholarship will be provided to the ST meritorious students to pursue graduate and postgraduate level courses in fields like engineering, medicine, IT, management, law, etc. This initiative is basically taken to encourage the ST students of society to pursue higher studies.

National Fellowship And Scholarship For Higher Education Of ST students Eligibility 2020

For Fellowship   

• A candidate must belong to ST category.
• Applicant must have passed the post-graduation and have taken admission in full-time Ph.D./ M.Phil courses in the institutions/ universities recognized by UGC.
• Fellowship shall be payable once the student has secured admission and started research work.

For Scholarship

• This scholarship scheme is available only for ST category students.
• For the award of scholarship, it is necessary for the students to secure admission in respective courses in notified institutions.
• Students whose family income is less than INR 6 lacs per annum can apply for this scheme.
• The scholarship will be awarded until the completion, of course, subject to satisfactory performance in each subsequent academic year.

Financial Assistance for Fellowship

Every year, a total of 750 fresh fellowships will be awarded to the eligible candidates. The details regarding the financial assistance for the fellowship are as follows

Note:The fellowship for M.Phil will be provided for the period of 2 years while the fellowship for Ph.D. will be provided for up to 5 years.

Financial Assistance for scholarship

• ST students who will be selected will get the tuition fee of up to 2.5 lacs per annum for private sector institutions.
• Candidates will also get INR 3000/- per annum for books and stationery.
• Living expenses of INR 2,000/- per month will also be given to scholars.
• One time financial assistance of INR 45,000/- is provided for computer and accessories.

3. Enter all the required details and click on the register button.
4. He/ she will get an OTP on their registered mobile number.
5. Verify your mobile number and proceed towards the filling of the remaining form.
6. At last, click on the submit button to submit your details.
7. Students must retain the application ID/user ID for further references.

Selection Procedure

The selection of the students will be purely done on the basis of fulfillment of eligibility criteria and on the merit basis of their performance in the previous examination.
