The education department of Chandigarh invites all the eligible students to apply for Post Matric Scholarship for Other Backward Class Students. This scholarship is being granted to all the students belonging to OBC category to provide financial assistance for their education. The main aim of the scholarship is to disseminate education at each level and to ensure that children must get benefits of this scholarship.

Post Matric Scholarship For Other Backward Class Students 2020 Eligibility

• Candidate must belong to the OBC category.
• Should have permanent residence in Chandigarh.
• Must be pursuing post-matric courses /Postsecondary courses.
• The students who are pursuing their courses through correspondence courses are also eligible.
• Candidate whose income, as well as parent’s income, does not exceed more than 1 LAC is eligible for a post-matric scholarship to extend the reimbursement of all compulsory payable non-refundable fees.

Note - students who are in intermediate and high school are not eligible for this course. However, if students have completed his/her high school, and join any other courses, he/she is eligible for Post Matric Scholarship.

Post Matric Scholarship For Other Backward Class Students, Chandigarh Rewards

The following privileges will be given to the OBC students who will be selected for this scholarship-

• Maintenance Allowance - Hostellers - INR 750 p/m Day Scholar-INR 350 p/m
• Reader Charges - Up to - INR 175 p/m for ten months 
• Study Tour Charges/Thesis Typing and Printing Charges - INR 1000 p/a
• Annual Book Allowance - INR 900 P/A for students pursuing correspondence or distance courses.

• Annual Fee details verified by Institute.
• Last qualifying class Certificate.
• Copy of a bank account in the name of students linked to Aadhaar Card.
• Income proof issued by Tehsildar, OBC Certificate.
