Post Matric Scholarship Scheme for ST Students Meghalaya 2020, Eligibility Criteria, Application Form & Last Date

Government of Meghalaya with the help of its department of education invited applications for the Meghalaya Post Matric Scholarship Scheme for ST students. The scholarship is introduced to reduced the financial burden of ST students, by giving them variable financial rewards.

A fixed eligibility criterion has been fixed by the government, after fulfillment of which, students can apply for the scholarship. The government of Meghalaya already kept an eye on the literacy rate of their state. After observing an effective reduction in the education rate among ST students, the government couldn't stop its department of education to take action on this. That's why one of the solutions to this problem is in front of us, in the form of Meghalaya Scholarship.

Eligibility For Meghalaya Post Matric Scholarship Scheme for ST Students

To apply for this scholarship:-

• Candidate must have a domicile of Meghalaya
• Candidate must be a student of post-matric level (Class 11th or Above)
• Candidate must belong to ST (Schedule Tribe) Community
• The annual family income of the candidate should be less than INR2,50,000

Awards & Benefits of the Meghalaya Scholarship?

These are the benefits that shortlisted students of this scholarship will receive:-

• Maintenance Allowance ( INR1200 per month for hostel living students & INR 550 per month for day shortlisted scholars)
• Students with a disability will receive a provision of INR 240 per month.
• Reimbursement of nonrefundable fees (which is compulsory)
• Study Tour charges ( INR 1600 Per Month)
• Typing/Printing and Book Allowance for students pursuing graduation from correspondence (INR 1200 Per Annum)

Documents Required to Apply for the Scholarship

Before applying for the scholarship, the candidate should make sure if he/she has these documents are available or not:-

• Copy of Application
• Passport Sized Photographs
• Attested copies of Certificates, Degree or Diploma he/she has.
• A copy of the original certificate denoting the caste of the candidate, duly signed by the authorized revenue officer or any officer not below the rank of Tehsildar.
• A family income certificate of the candidate, presenting last year's total family income.
• A receipt of the scholarship applied by the candidate in the previous year (If available)

How to apply for Meghalaya Post Matric Scholarship Scheme for ST students, 2020?

These are the steps to follow-up if interested in applying for the scholarship:-

1. Open the National Scholarship Portal's official website and click on New Registration.
2. Read the guidelines available there. Then select the undertaking and tap on Continue.
3. Enter the necessary details mentioned there, like Applicant's Name. DOB, Mobile Number, E-Mail ID, Gender, State of Domicile, Category of Scholarship and Type of Scheme.
4. After this, carefully fill-up your essential bank details, like Bank Name, Bank's Full Address, IFSC Code, MICR Code & Bank Account Number.
5. Doing this will ask you to enter your Aadhar Card detail and Bank Account Number.
6. For verification of this, you'll receive an OTP on your Mobile Phone.
7. Now, you can use that OTP to download or fill-up an application form.
8. An application ID and Password will be generated once you start filling the application form.
9. Candidates have advised to fill-up the application form carefully. Once clicked on submit, there is no chance of going back for changes.

• Final Date for Defective Verification: 16th March 2020
