Pre-matric Scholarship for Students with Disabilities 2021 offered by Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disability, Government of India. Under this scheme, the physically challenged students of Class 9th and Class 10th will be financially assisted so that they can pursue their education without any monetary difficulties. The purpose of pre-matric and post-matric scholarships for students with disabilities is to support students with disabilities to study and improves their participation at the pre-matric stage of education. 

Pre-matric Scholarship For Students With Disabilities 2021-22 Eligibility

Following are some of the conditions to be eligible for the Pre-matric Scholarship for Students with Disabilities 2021

• Only Indian nationals can apply.
• Students studying in class 9 or class 10 can apply for this scholarship.
• An applicant must have more than 40 % disability and possess the certificate for the same.
• The annual family income of the applicant must not be more than 2.5 lacs per annum.

Rewards Of Scholarship For Disabled Students 

The amount of pre-matric scholarship for disabled students 2021 provided to the selected candidates includes maintenance allowance, book grant, and disability allowance. The details of which are as follows

• The maintenance allowance provided today scholars and hostellers for 12 months is INR 500/- and INR 800/- per month respectively.
• Books grant of INR 1000/- per annum will also be given to selected candidates.
• Students will get disability allowance as per their type of disability.
• Visually impaired candidates will get INR 4,000/- per annum, hearing-impaired candidates will receive INR 2,000/- per annum, physically disabled (PH) candidates will get INR 2,000/- per annum, students with intellectual disabilities will receive INR 4,000/- per annum and those having other than these type of disabilities will get INR 2,000/- per annum.

Pre-matric Scholarship For Disabled Students Application Form

Students can follow the below-given steps to apply for the Pre-matric Scholarship for Students with Disabilities:

1. Aspiring candidates can apply online through the National Scholarship Portal.
2. Click hereto register online 
3. Fill in all the required details including name, gender, email ID, scholarship category, scheme type, mobile number, DOB, state of domicile, bank details, residential address, etc.
4. Already registered users can directly log in with their registered user ID/ application ID and password.
5. After successful registration, students will receive an OTP in their registered mobile number.
6. Verify your mobile number.
7. Thereafter, fill in all the remaining details in the form and submit it.

• Photograph of the applicant
• Disability certificate
• Fee receipt of the current year
• Previous year mark sheet
• Bank account details
• Age proof certificate
• Income certificate

 Terms & Conditions

• More than 2 children with disabilities of the same parent can not participate in this scholarship.
• Scholarship to study in any class will be provided only for one year.
• 50 % of the total scholarship is reserved for the girls.

Important Dates 

The application process of this scholarship scheme has been started for the academic year 2021-22. The last date to submit the filled-in application form is 31st March 2021.

Selection Procedure

Based on the fulfillment of eligibility conditions, the selection will be made on the merit basis of marks percentage obtained in the qualifying examination. If there is a tie, then the students having more disabilities will get preference. In case there is still a tie, then the students older in age will be preferred.
