Department of Welfare of Plains Tribes & Backward Classes, Government of Assam is offering the Pre-Matric Scholarship for ST Students (Class 1 to 8) 2020, Assam. It is an initiative taken towards the Scheduled Category (ST) students of the society. Students who are the permanent resident of Assam state and studying in class 1st to class 8th can only apply for this scheme. The main objective of this scholarship is to provide financial assistance to the ST students so that they can pursue their school education without facing any monetary issues.

Pre-Matric Scholarship to ST Students (Class 1 to 8) Eligibility:

The eligibility conditions which must be fulfilled by the students to apply for this scholarship scheme are as follows:

• A candidate must belong to Assam state.
• This scheme is open only for Scheduled Tribe candidates.
• Students studying in class 1st to class 8th in recognized schools of Assam are eligible to apply.
• The family annual income of the applicant must not be more than INR 50,000/- per annum.
• The applicant must have satisfactory attendance in the previous examination.

Pre-Matric Scholarship to ST Students (Class 1 to 8) Reward:

The students who will be eligible and selected for this scholarship will get INR 25 to 100 per month. The scholars will receive an amount of up to INR 1200/- per annum.
