To promote the educational and economic interests of the students of Scheduled Tribes of the state, Govt. of Maharashtra is offering many scholarships and financial aids. Under the Govt. of Maharashtra Department of Tribal Development works for the people and particularly for the Scheduled Tribes and protects them from social injustice and any forms of exploitation. 
To encourage the students of Scheduled Tribes’ Students to go complete their studies after primary The Department of Tribal Development, under Govt. of Maharashtra has launched many social and financial welfare schemes. The Department of Tribal Development was established in the year 1983 on April 22nd, it is operating independently for the strengthening of tribal development.

The Department of Tribal Development, under Govt. of Maharashtra, has announced the scholarship scheme for handicapped students who belong to scheduled tribes and studying in any class between 8th to 12th. The main purpose to provide this scholarship to handicapped S.T students is to encourage and promote education among them by giving them financial support so they can continue their education without getting worried about the financial expenses of the study.

Eligibility Criteria: Scholarship For Handicap 2020

Any student who fulfills all the criteria mentioned below is eligible to apply for Scholarship scheme for Handicap, Maharashtra:

• Any student who is handicapped.
• Any student who belongs to any of the community of schedule tribes.
• Any student whose disability percentage is greater than or equal to 40 percent.
• Any student who is studying in any class between 8th to 12th  in any govt. or private school.

Reward Of Scholarship For Handicapped Students In Maharashtra 2020

All the successful candidates will receive the scholarship amount/ reward/ allowance as mentioned below
  

1. The student will get monthly maintenance allowance of Rs.500
2. The student will get monthly traveling or reader allowance of Rs.100

• The applicant will receive an OTP on their registered mobile number.
• Fill all the required details and complete the registration process 
• Log in with your username or password you have created
• Complete the application process to apply for the scholarship

Important Dates

The last date to apply for Scholarship for Handicap, Maharashtra is 10th October. 

Selection Procedure

The selection procedure is as follows

• All the applications received from the students and will be evaluated by the Department of Tribal Development. 
• Qualifiers of Scholarship for Handicap, Maharashtra will be notified individually.
• The decision of the Department of Tribal Development will be final and binding.

Mandatory Note & Policies 

1. Having a mobile number registered with Aadhaar card is mandatory for the applicant in the process to ensure complete his/her registration.
2. In the process of renewing the Scholarship for Handicap, Maharashtra 2020 for the coming years, the student has to clear the previous year’s examination.
