Scholarship to the Disabled Students 2020-21 is an initiative taken towards the physically disabled school students belonging from the backward classes of our society. This scholarship scheme is being offered by the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of Gujarat. Students who are the permanent resident of the Gujarat state can only apply for this scheme. The main objective of this scholarship is to provide financial assistance to the physically handicapped school going students so that they can fulfill their necessary needs of purchase of study materials.

Eligibility Criteria for Scholarship for Students With Disabilities 

The eligibility conditions which must be fulfilled by the students to apply for this scholarship scheme are as follows

• A candidate must belong to the Gujarat state.
• Applicant disability must be more than 40%.
• Candidate must have passed his/her immediate class examination with a minimum of 40% marks.
• Family annual income must not be more than INR 50,000/- per annum.
• The applicant must have satisfactory attendance in the previous examination.

Scholarship for Students with Disabilities Reward Amount

The students who will be eligible and selected for this scholarship will get the following benefits

1. Class 1st to class 7th students will get INR 1000/- per annum.
2. Class 8th to 12th students will get INR 1500/- to INR 5000/- per annum.

How To Apply for Scholarship To The Disabled Students

Following are some of the steps which candidates have to follow to apply for this scholarship scheme:

• The application process of this scholarship scheme is offline.
• Students wishing to apply can obtain the application forms free of cost from the District Social Security Officer's office.
• Students must fill all the details correctly in the application form and affix their recent passport size photograph in the prescribed space.
• Before submitting the form, students must keep the photocopy of the filled-in application form for further references.
• The filled-in application form must be submitted to the District Social Security Officer's office before due dates.
• The school will be liable that all the details submitted by the student are correct.

Documents Required To Apply For Scholarship To The Disabled Students

• Income certificate issued by the competent authority
• Attested copies of previous year mark sheet
• Disability identity card stating disability percentage
• Passport size photograph

Important Dates

The forms are available at the beginning of the academic session i.e. in the month of June to August 2020-21. The last date to submit the application form is 15th August.

The selection of the students will majorly depend upon the financial status and the need for the scholarship.
