State Merit Scholarship (SMS) Kerala 2021, Eligibility, Last Date, Application Form & Reward Amount

Kerala Merit Scholarship is awarded to students who are on the merit list and pursuing the undergraduate and postgraduate courses in any government /aided arts and science colleges of University or department. The scholarship is granted by the Higher Education Department i.e. Directorate of Collegiate Education, Govt. of Kerala. Only permanent Kerala residential students can apply for this scholarship. 

Eligibility Criteria For State Merit Scholarship 2021

Candidates fulfilling the below-mentioned criteria is eligible to apply for State Merit List 

• Candidate must be the 1st-year student pursuing a postgraduate or undergraduate course in a govt. /aided college.
• Must have scored 50 % marks or above qualifying examination.
• Annual income must not exceed more than 1 lakh. 
• The applicant must be the permanent resident of Kerala.

Reward Amount For State Merit Scholarship

Under State Merit Scholarship a total of 300 scholarships of INR 1250 per annum will be given to the selected undergraduate students and scholarship of INR 1500 will be given to postgraduate students.

To apply for State Merit Scholarship 2020-21 Kerala one has to follow the given steps

2. Fill all the mandatory details and click on the submit button.
3. After the complete procedure, your application will be submitted for renewal or for registration. 

Important Details 

• The scholarship will be given for one year and can be renewed after that.
• As the scholarship amount will be credited to the bank account of the selected candidate, it is mandatory for an applicant to have his/her bank account.
• Students can open their bank account in any of the following banks

1. Bank of India
2. State Bank of Travancore
3. South Indian Bank
4. Federal Bank
